Riad Dar Balthazar - Marrakesh

The staff are wonderful and the Riad is a lovely peaceful escape in crazy Marrakesh, also breakfast on the terrace is fantastic.

It is a magical oasis of calm. Very friendly, welcoming, clean and you are looked after very well. We stayed in the Balthazer Suite and it was charming.

It was like walking into an oasis of calm from the bustling streets of Marrakech. The courtyard and the rooms were very tasteful and relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful without being over bearing.

Very very nice riad, with a good location (10 minutes walk form Jemma el Fna), big and tasty breakfast and a superb suite (Gaspard was our suite). Also the staff was very very nice. Would recommend to anyone.

I missed frsh orange juice instead of tetrapack one for the breakfast.

Stylish room (Gaspard suite); friendly people, clean, breakfast okay, not too far from Jemaa el Fna and the busstation. It's easy to find with the description I found amongst these comments: standing in front of the Dar Marjana restaurant go to the left +/- 50 mtrs and then to the right through the porch like entrance signed for Riad Dar Baraka & Karam, then follow the sign to Dar Julia. Dar Balthazar is at the end of the same alleyway.

No complaints; the price relatively seems a little bit high though compared to other hotels in Marrakech.

I enjoyed the calm ambiance as you walk in the door and the traditional moroccan decor throughout the riad was superb. Amazing terrace for sun bathing, having breakfast or dinner. Staff very helpful and friendly.

It was clean, very beautifully designed and decorated, the staff was friendly. It was quiet, well situated, absolutely value for money. I would definitely recommend it.

The staff didn't know very much about excursions etc. in Marroco. They weren't very helpful in this issue only. On all other issues they were great. Additionally, some of the staff didn't speak... any language well (except arabic, of course). Others spoke french well, so it was easier to communicate.

Staff at the riad were extremely friendly and went beyond the call of duty to make sure our stay in Marrakech was a pleasant one. Our room was the picture of Moroccan decor and breakfast on the sun-soaked rooftop was a great start to the day. It is in a great location - it is about 5 minutes from the souks and 10 minutes from the main square. It is easy enough to find once you know your way and there is a travel agency nearby where you can book your tours into the desert. A professional and friendly service in a picture-perfect riad - I would definately recommend this to my friends as a value-for-money riad in the heart of Marrakech.

The only one thing I will say is the place is not the easiest to find despite the hotel sending us a map prior to arrival! We had to pay a local 20 MAD to show us,

The Riad staff were great, nothing was to much trouble. You will be amazed when you go through the little wooden door, from a alleyway into a peaceful and tranquil setting.

Nothing much, bit difficult to find without a map maybe a bit more hot water at night in the bathroom.
